FAQ

Platform

May I use your backend platform with my own system?

Yes. Just ask us. We help you to scale out!

Our system is hosted by backend-systems.net, which scales STOMP-, COMET-, Websocket- and streaming server for us.

STOMP, COMET, Websocket. What?

RadioDNS Projekt defines transport protocols for delivering RadioVIS content [Graphics/Text]. The specification says that the STOMP protocol is recommended and COMET with JSON/JSONP may be used. We, MyRadioDNS.com, support and provide both by default, so every device and software however will get your content. You do not have to worry about that. If any changes towards the spec. will arise, we care for that.

Beside this, we offer the upcoming websocket protocol for delivery. Our Playersoftware likes that :).

Is it for FM/DAB Stations only?

If you are a webcaster you can hold your breath! End of april 2012 the radioDNS Project
makes the IP delivery [webcaster/shoutcast/Icecast stations] part of the standard! Yeh!
I will not be a solution for big stations anymore!
Register your streamed station and get on the devices!

Dab+ MUX Integration

Yes, it is possible to deliver to DAB/DAB+ mux.
We support VDL und Factum with ftp and SOAP.
Faunhofer MUX should run, too. Just call us!

Does it work with analog radio?

Yes! That’s the beauty of RadioDNS!
The openess to all distribution channels:

AM, FM, DAB, DAB+, DRM, DRM+, HD-Radio, IP streaming

RadioVIS and SmartTV?

Asl us, now!
or do you want it for HbbTV

How much is it?

The smallest package price is lower than the energy costs of a self hosted virtual maschine.

Any more question?

What about the DNS entry and zone files?

For the whole system to work, you have to make a DNS entry request at www.radioDNS.org.
Don’t worry, we help you on the way to do that. We will generate a zone file with all SRV records needed.
Just mail that to radiodns.org.

Import external data

Did you know that you can import your progam schedule into MyRaidoDNS.com?

Go to SETTINGS –> Import External Data

Enter the URI to your EPG.xml, IMDA.xml, Airtime schedule, Google Calendar or ICS file location into the form and save it.

Now you will see your external defined show-schedule inside the calendar view to easily place the RadioVIS templates beside that.

Easy as pie!

What kinds of user accounts are available?

You can define two kinds of user roles:

Station Manager and DJ account.

The station manager is responsible for all the definition of station data,  schedules, import of data, can define more user accounts etc.

Beside that, the DJ account uses only the Image and Text editors and the instant messagew window, the DJ console, to push out the content for his show.

We have more than one station!

If you have more than one Radio Station you have the options:

Manage all stations from one Station Manager Account and switch between your stations via a select box inside the MyRadioDNS.com GUI.

You can define to what station(s) which DJ may have access to or work for!

Just give us notice if there are more than one station at yours.
